IKOS Systems Announces ``iSave'' Program: Emulation With No Capital Investment

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 22, 2001-- IKOS Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:IKOS - news), a leading provider of high-performance design verification solutions, today announced the IKOS iSAVE program. iSAVE enables customers to acquire the latest in IKOS emulation technology through a capacity subscription model. Using the iSAVE program customers subscribe for capacity ranging from three million to 15 million usable ASIC gates in a single system for six months or more and receive on site state-of-the-art emulation technology from IKOS for a low monthly subscription fee. Pricing starts as low as $49,500 per month for three million gate capacity, one compile license and two debug licenses. Users can then increase capacity in one and a half million gate increments at any time for an incremental cost of $22,500 per one and a half million gates.

The iSAVE capacity subscription offering is part of the IKOS ``iFLEX'' program of flexible purchase and rental options. iEN (iEmulate Now), our rental program, offers customers the opportunity to rent emulation systems with credit toward purchase. The iSWITCH2 program allows customers to turn in their old systems from other vendors for like capacity in a new IKOS system at prices as low as nine cents per gate and the all new iSAVE program provides a way for customers with tight capital budgets or fluctuating capacity needs to acquire just the right amount of emulation capacity at just the right time. ``For customers, one of the great things about the iSAVE program is that they can decrease their capacity, and therefore their monthly costs, at any time to the three million gate minimum, thus saving money when their needs change,'' commented Linda Prowse Fosler, vice president of marketing.

The advantages of the iSAVE program include:

-- All inclusive, low monthly subscription fees on the latest
        emulation technology

    -- No capital expenditure/no depreciation

-- Automatic upgrades to new hardware and software--virtually
        eliminating obsolescence

-- Flexible configuration that can be changed month by month

-- Hardware and software maintenance included at no extra charge

-- Up to two FREE weeks of consultation upon installation

-- The latest emulation technology from IKOS Systems

        - Up to 15 million usable ASIC gates

        - Simulation-like debug environment

        - In-circuit and targetless modes
